Season 2 Returns 2018
Making Of A Musical is a light-hearted docuseries that examines the partnership between Stewart St John, Michael Plahuta and Todd Fisher — founders of Wonkybot Studios — as they create and launch musical shows and concerts based on their family-friendly properties. Stewart is the visionary writer creating the characters, ideas and adapting the projects for stage; Stewart and Michael together create the songs and music; and the trio of Stewart, Michael and Todd are the producers of the albums and shows.
Arriving in New York City with only three days until showtime, Stewart St John, Todd Fisher and Michael Plahuta — the creative forces behind the superhero franchise TARA TREMENDOUS (and the founders of family production company Wonkybot Studios) — have just 8 hours to rehearse 20 songs with some of Broadway’s brightest stars (Micky Dolenz, Annie Golden, Kecia Lewis and more) who’ve just signed on to their family musical project. Will they be ready in time for the live concert performance debut at world renowned Feinstein’s/54 Below?
Heading to small town Anniston, Alabama, the Wonkybots — Stewart St John, Todd Fisher and Michael Plahuta — have just 48 hours to rehearse, block and teach 30 songs with the cast and crew of not one — but two workshop concerts: TARA TREMENDOUS and the world premiere of a pre-show based on SPOOKY TROOP! With professional Hollywood actors attached to TARA TREMENDOUS, and local talent being cast for SPOOKY TROOP, the Wonkybots find themselves juggling two disparate worlds, overseeing costume designs, photo shoots, a children’s choir and a technical malfunction that threatens the production. Throw in a colorful cast of local townsfolk and a Halloween parade and the drama is ratcheted up as the Wonkybots race to be ready for opening night!
