Wonkybot Studios today announced that 12-year-old actress/singer Ramsey Whitney will appear on Talk of Alabama, the local morning show on Birmingham’s ABC affiliate 33/40, on Tuesday, September 26, to reprise her role as Lydia Benedict and perform “Ordinary”, one of the songs from the new family stage musical Tara Tremendous – The Musical.

Ramsey’s appearance on the show, which will be live-streamed on the 33/40 website, is part of the publicity tour for the release of the Tara Tremendous cast album, available at Wonkybot.

Tara Tremendous – The Musical tells the origin story of 11-year-old Tara Callahan who accidentally acquires the powers of every superhero on Earth. It was created and written by Stewart St John (Disney Channel’s Seventeen Again, Fox’s Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), based on his #1 iTunes podcast series The Secret Diaries of Tara Tremendous. Stewart and his musical partner Michael Plahuta composed all the songs and instrumental music for the show.

Ramsey originally sang “Ordinary” in the musical’s New York City concert debut at Feinstein’s/54 Below back in March, taking the stage with Broadway vets Micky Dolenz, MiMi Ryder, Annie Golden and more.

“Lydia Benedict is a character I created with Ramsey in mind to play ever since I heard her sing,” explains Stewart St John. “She’s got an incredible vocal range; that, coupled with her strong acting chops, made her the perfect choice for Lydia, a character who is conceited, spoiled and determined to undermine her cousin Tara, who accidentally acquires all the powers of every superhero in the world.”

Ramsey is a veteran of the stage, performing since the age of 4. Last year she sang the National Anthem at the USDA Regional Forester’s Honor Awards Ceremony, appeared as Tomika in Red Mountain Theatre Company’s production of School of Rock, and continues to audition for commercials and television shows. She’s appeared in several TV spots over the last few years, and continues to book gigs in both TV and film.
