Special Pre-Show Concert Will Open Tara Tremendous The Musical Event

Beverly Hills, CA — Wonkybot Studios has just cast performer Sawyer Shealy in the role of Michael McKay (aka Michael The Monster) in “Spooky Troop The Musical Concert”. This marks the second casting announcement for Spooky Troop, which makes its debut as a live-action stage property in a special pre-show performance (leading into Tara Tremendous The Musical Concert) at the Anniston Performing Arts Center in Anniston, Alabama.

Produced by Wonkybot Studios, show time is November 2 at 7 PM. Tickets are now available at wonkybot.com

Created by Stewart St John, Spooky Troop is the story of seven supernatural friends who want to make a difference in their world, a place where monsters, witches, ghosts and ghouls really exist – and are feuding with each other. The Spooky Troop friends — Stewart (The Sorcerer), Valerie (The Vampire), Willie (The Werewolf), Delilah (The Demon), Zianna (The Zombie), Todd (The Oddbot) and Michael (The Monster) — are determined to show their racially divided realm the power of coming together… even if the world isn’t ready to embrace such a concept.

St John adapted the story for the stage and composed brand new songs with musical partner Michael Plahuta, which will be heard for the very first time in the Anniston concert.

“Wonkybot’s mission is to deliver exiting stories with positive themes for kids and families,” said Todd Fisher, COO, Wonkybot Studios and concert producer. “Spooky Troop is an exciting adventure story filled with positive themes about tolerance, believing in yourself and the power of family and friendship. We couldn’t be more proud to introduce the Spooky Troop to the Alabama audience.”

Shealy, a resident of Anniston, Alabama, is a member of the CASTkidz theatre troupe where he most recently played Colonel Hathi in The Jungle Book. He’s currently portraying Ejlif in Jacksonville State University’s mainstage production of Enemy of the People. He has also performed with Characters Theatrics as a member of Fagin’s gang in Oliver! and with CAST as Pugsley in Addam’s Family the Musical. Sawyer is a member of the beginner band at AMS, playing the saxophone and enjoys spending time with his 2 little sisters.

Wonkybot chose Anniston, Alabama to launch the concert because of the enormous support, warmth and love the project has garnered from the community, which represents the message of what Wonkybot and its projects are all about.

“We believe that there is so much undiscovered and untapped talent out there,” added Todd Fisher, producer of the show and co-founder of Wonkybot Studios. “We want to use Spooky Troop as a way to find those talented folks and put them on the stage for everyone to see.”

“We’re thrilled to have Sawyer in the show as Michael The Monster,” added Michael Plahuta, Musical Director and co-composer of the original songs. “Michael is a sweet and funny character. He’s a member of the “monsterling” community, one of the creature-races that the other citizens look down on, but Michael’s good heart (and love of food!) endears him to residents of the town. We think Sawyer will nail the role!”

Spooky Troop will be the featured pre-show musical concert leading into the Tara Tremendous The Musical Concert show.

The 90-minute musical evening is presented by Wonkybot Studios with support from CAST Theater, CharACTer Entertainment, Kimberlite Productions, The Music Box and Knox Concert Series. Produced by Todd Fisher, Stewart St John, and Michael Plahuta. Co-Produced by Emmalie Whitney.

Stay tuned for more cast announcements this week.
