Wonkybot Studios has dropped a short preview trailer for its upcoming Tara Tremendous action/interactive experience-platformer, based on the company’s flagship franchise.
Produced in-house, “Tara Tremendous: Battle Beneath Power U” centers around Tara Tremendous, the 11-year-old who accidentally inherits the powers of every superhero on Earth, in a race against time to defeat Dr. Epic’s robot army and prevent him from stealing the Crystal Brain — a power source capable of giving him unlimited supernatural abilities.
Kids will be able to play as Tara Tremendous, tap into her different powers, and guide her through the underground chambers of Power U as she battles Epic’s robots. The game will feature voice overs from Tara, Dr. Epic, Mr. Barrington and other exciting characters from the franchise, plus sound effects and original music by Tara Tremendous creator Stewart St John and music partner Michael Plahuta, with story and dialogue by St John.
“It’s our first foray into the game world,” said Todd Fisher, co-founder of Wonkybot Studios and producer of the game. “It’s a natural extension of the brand, and because we’re all into playing video games here, it’s especially exciting to see it come to life.”
Wonkybot has been spinning the franchise into different platforms, beginning with the podcast series which became #1 on iTunes and audiobooks. Last month it launched the “Tara Tremendous The Musical” concert at New York’s Feinstein’s/54 Below, starring Micky Dolenz and MiMi Ryder from ‘Matilda The Musical’ and is eyeing a future broadway show. A book, animated series and live-action feature are also in development at the studio.
“Tara Tremendous: Battle Beneath Power U” will be available for download on multiple platforms. See the trailer here.
