Wonkybot Studios has released ‘To Be Me‘, the first single from Wonkybot’s upcoming Spooky Troop The Musical album, with lyrics by Stewart St John and music by St John and Michael Plahuta. The song is performed by Allie Jordan Butcher.

Butcher recorded the track after playing the character Valerie the Vampire in the recent concert performance of the musical. In the show, Valerie is a rebel teen vampire ostracized by her mother for being different than the other vampires. Valerie refuses to be like everyone else and sings “To Be Me”.

“It’s an inspirational song that I think a lot of people will identify with,” said St John, “Valerie is on the path of discovering who she is, and is just starting to accept herself and be okay with being different.”

St John and Plahuta specifically wrote the song for Butcher to sing after working with her on another project.

“She has an amazing voice and is very disciplined,” said Plahuta, “It really inspired us.”

The single and an instrumental version are now available on iTunes, Amazon, GooglePlay and other digital retailers. Wonkybot Studios has announced plans to tour the concert version of the Spooky Troop musical in 2018.
