The Next Era of Storytelling: Inside Wonkybot Phase 2

Date: October 14, 2025

There’s a new energy running through Wonkybot. You can feel it the moment you land on our site — bolder visuals, deeper colors, a cinematic edge. But what’s happening here isn’t just a redesign. It’s a rebirth.

Phase 2 marks the next era of storytelling for Wonkybot — one where imagination moves beyond sound into full-blown worlds of sight, motion, and emotion. It’s the moment we stop talking about the dream and start animating it.

When we started Wonkybot, we were just three creators — Todd, Michael, and me — chasing an idea: that we could build entire universes from scratch, with nothing but story, sound, and heart. We didn’t wait for studios or permission. We created.

And together, we built something extraordinary. Over the last few years, you joined us for more than a dozen original audio adventures — from Tara Tremendous and Tremendous Boy to Origins Unknown and Spooky Troop. Those stories became the foundation of a much bigger vision: to prove that independent creators could tell epic, cinematic tales on our own terms.

Now, that foundation launches us into a new medium.

At the center of this leap is our first-ever adult animated comedy series, The Swines. It’s loud, heartfelt, funny, and completely us — a semi-autobiographical story about a wildly imperfect family of anthropomorphic pigs trying to make sense of life, love, and legacy on their beloved Hog Heaven Ranch.

This isn’t just another show. It’s the culmination of everything we’ve learned about character, comedy, and connection. And every frame of it — from story to design to score — has been produced entirely in-house by our newly formed Wonkybot Animation division.

It’s been equal parts chaos and joy, and I wouldn’t trade a second of it.

When the full-trailer drops October 22 on YouTube and the first episode premieres November 19, it’ll mark the moment our indie studio officially transforms from an audio powerhouse into a full-spectrum storytelling universe. (Meanwhile, check out the short Teaser Trailer right now!)

Wonkybot 2.0 isn’t about chasing trends. It’s about creative freedom. It’s about building worlds that still have soul in an era of algorithms. It’s about believing that imagination — real, human imagination — is the most powerful technology we have.

Todd’s redesign captures that philosophy beautifully. Every dark tone, every subtle animation, every cinematic flourish on this site reflects what we believe in: craftsmanship, heart, and the thrill of creating something original.

And none of it would exist without Michael’s extraordinary art direction — the visual heartbeat of everything we create. He’s taken my earliest sketches of The Swines characters and breathed life into them, pouring over every frame, every detail, every shadow until the world feels utterly alive. Together, we’ve built a creative pipeline that feels less like a studio and more like an orchestra — each of us in sync, crafting stories that move, connect, and endure.

Before we charge into the next era, I have to pause and say thank you. Phase 1 was built on the support of fans around the world who believed in our little audio experiment — and turned it into something global. Because of you, Tara Tremendous became the first podcast ever nominated for a Kidscreen Award. Because of you, Origins Unknown earned a Webby Honorable Mention. And because of you, we discovered that even in a world of endless noise, authentic storytelling still cuts through.

That encouragement gave us the courage to take this leap.

Our next phase isn’t about abandoning the past — it’s about expanding it. We’re stepping boldly into new mediums — from television and film to music — with some exciting things already in motion for Tara Tremendous next year. We’re also producing companion books, soundtracks, and behind-the-scenes projects that showcase how these worlds come to life, expanding the universe of stories you’ve come to love in ways we’ve only dreamed of until now.

Wonkybot Phase 2 is about connection — between mediums, between creators and fans, between imagination and possibility.

Because what started as a small creative experiment has grown into something larger: a belief that independent storytelling can still change the world.

And this is only the beginning.

Welcome to the next era.
