‘Treacherous Tales’: Wonkybot Reveals Plot, Cast And Trailer For Second Episode Of Stewart St John’s Fiction Horror Podcast

LOS ANGELES, CA., August 18, 2023 – Wonkybot Studios, the award-winning production and podcast division of content and IP holding company Wonkybot Entertainment, today announced the cast and dropped the second episode trailer for Treacherous Tales, the chilling new scripted audio series from award-winning scribe Stewart St John, Wonkybot’s creative CEO.

In the new episode, titled “What A Doll”, a young woman is given a cursed doll to carry out a plot to murder her ex-boyfriend’s new lover, but learns the cost of tapping into the supernatural might be more than she bargained for. The episode will release on Friday, August 25th on wonkybot.com and all major podcast platforms.

Members of the cast include Jessica Magers-Rankin as the scorned woman Jenna Browne, Sarah Cronk as her best friend Lori Jackson, and Tanya Rich as the Eastern European occultist Mrs. Burtok.  Patrick Young and Laura Schoonmaker round out the supporting cast as Caleb Richards and Madison Taylor.

St John co-executive produces with Wonkybot partners Todd Fisher and Michael Plahuta, and composed the show’s theme song with Plahuta, who is also the sound designer on every Wonkybot show.

Treacherous Tales, which was greenlit to production earlier this year, is the company’s first scripted podcast series aimed at mature audiences, part of Wonkybot’s initiative to broaden its reach beyond the kids and family audience it’s built over the years. The new series falls under Wonkybot’s supernatural, thriller, sci-fi & horror brand “Sinister Universe”.

An anthology series featuring distinct characters immersed in supernatural, sci-fi and horror situations, the stories in Treacherous Tales will culminate in macabre or unexpected endings infused with humor and moral complexity.

The series builds on the success of St John’s two-season, 20-episode teen horror audio series Origins Unknown, which won a Webby Award Honoree for Best Teen Podcast.
